The complex is situated on the long white beach of Silversand, that borders the Malindi Marine Park. The Blu Key is a small exclusive club, with maximum care and attention paid to detail. It has been designed to satisfy the demands of everyone who wishes to enjoy a holiday break that is peaceful and quiet in the intimate and exotic yet sparkling surroundings of the vibrant city of Malindi. It lies just 120 km from the Mombasa International airport and 4 km from Malindi airport.
Accommodation
Hidden deep in lush tropical gardens dense with coconut palms, the club has 12 superior rooms in one- or two-floor bungalows with the typical makuti roofs; there are an additional 14 bedrooms decorated in a modern Colonial style. Each bedroom has its own veranda or patio, depending on whether it is located on the ground or first floor.
The African flavor is evident from the architectonic and furnishing choices of the Blu Key Beach Club: each room contains a large bed fitted with a mosquito net, a ventilator fan fitted to the ceiling and locally-crafted furniture. Every room is air-conditioned and is equipped with a mini-bar, safe and hairdryer.
The beach
The resort extends around a lake where water lilies thrive and three swimming-pools that slope towards a private, well- protected beach: this wonderful space has been furnished with large straw umbrellas and comfortable mango-wood sun-loungers complete with soft fabric mattresses. A small wooden cabin has been built on the beach and on request, guests can luxuriate in the pleasure of a massage in an exclusive ambience while enjoying the magnificent sea view.
Bars and Restaurants
The main restaurant provides a buffet breakfast between 7.30 and 10.30 am. The buffet lunch with a rich variety of grilled fish and meat dishes is available between 1.00 and 2.30 pm. Dinner is also a buffet, though one evening every week, guests will enjoy waiter-service for a dinner menu based on fish, served at table.
The beach bar is open between 9.00 am and 5.00 pm and gives guests the opportunity of tasting delicious fresh fruit smoothies. The central bar is open between 9.00 am and 10.00 pm. In full respect of the British Colonial tradition, tea and biscuits are served every afternoon at 5.00 pm beside the swimming-pool. |
